Bang! Bang! Bang! 2012!

Yes, Christmas Eve was here, and there is the pork in my freezer to prove it. No, I am not working in Mamaroneck anymore. Yes, the gauntlet of Kindergarten has started. Go!

The Weekend Before December, 2011

To Eve or not to Eve...that is now the question. Can I clean my house in time? Will the boxes be gone (there is no where to shove them)? There is a lot of coordination, do I want to embark? Oh well, I should watch 30 Rock and read...I do have a huge pile of books...and then if I read, I wouldn't have to think about it!

Back at Work

Working at the Mamaroneck Public Library as given me access again to so many books, it is difficult for me to leave with a pile less than 4 books high. I read two graphic novels and one big book just this weekend! Cecil Castellucci's PLAIN Janes series is fun, and Before I Fall was slow to start but really excellent! And I am still thinking about Lian Hearn's Otori series, and the Montmaray books by Michelle Cooper are also good reads.

Summer Reading

I think that I will do some re-reading this summer. I saw the new film version of Jane Eyre, so that is on top of the list. Also, Martha said she was re-reading Pride and Prejudice, so, then so will I. I also saw a copy of A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, which I used to read annually, but haven't since Grandpa died, and certainly have avoided since Daddy died. But Chet bats lefty, so, I put it on my shelf. Also, I think I'll re-visit (isn't it the same thing, really), the Five Women complilation of some of Robert Musils short work, and I'll probably not be able to resist some YA...I was actually thinking of Harry, just to take a break from the usual Tamora series, although maybe a close reading of Melina Marchetta's early stuff and some Kristin Cashore. And Sonya Sones, but that is about an hour.

And there's plenty of new stuff to read, too. Everything But the Squeal, On Rue Tatin, and some new stuff that I don't remember.
